Team #1 Arrives

Our Group arrived in Guatemala Saturday night around 7pm. Anna and our hosts boys were there to pick us up at the airport and we attempted to strap all of our 17 + boxes and luggage onto and into three vehicles, then pack all of our group in for the hour and a half ride to the ranch. Quite the experience for some of the first timers.
We were welcomed by our wonderful hosts Anna and Roberto and were served with great hospitality. Our first big day, Sunday, we did a lot of traveling around the area to see where we would be working for the days to come. We had a wonderful barbeque for lunch done by Roberto then scoped out the farm/ranch area. Then we tackled all the boxes we had brought with the medical supplies, Croc shoes, and what seemed to be an endless supply of Beanie Babies. We worked hard on organizing the shoes, beanies, and medical supplies in different boxes and such so we could use the cardboard for the solar ovens we will be making.
Later on we shared a late supper with the Mayer of the Tecpan area. He and Dennis did a lot of chatting about what was to come of the school. It was really a special event to have the mayor come and God was moving. The television stations, along with the mayor, will be at the site of the school building at 3pm Monday for the ground breaking of the new school. Everything is going smoothly and everyone is excited to really get involved. More to come soon!
